Thomas Cook are now showing flights to Mytilene:
These are in addition to the Monarch flights:

Now before you start to cheer loudly, check the prices. The Wednesday flight from Manchester is currently very expensive. This is a positive move and I am sure that prices will settle down once the new schedules become established.
Let us all hope that this is a long term commitment and not just a single season experiment.

For nearly 2 hours last night, there was a dramatic electrical storm. I decided to try and capture the light show over western Lesvos. It was mostly some distance from Molyvos beyond the monastery at Ipsilou but I still managed to capture some very dramatic pictures.

That was a pretty wild two hours.
The cruise ship Azamara was at anchor outside Molyvos today. It is not often that cruise ships visit here, which is a huge pity. The views of the village and castle from the ship would be fantastic.
I decided to have a look at the operators web site. Sadly they have some key facts wrong. “Rhodes is the largest Greek island.” Sorry guys but Rhodes is the 4th largest Greek island. Oh well, never let the truth get in the way of a good advertising campaign!
I hope that those that came ashore enjoyed their visit and will decide to make a proper visit next year.
